1 / 16Station Cottage
Seahouses, Northumberland
A three bedroom cottage for five at Seahouses with an enclosed lawned garden, two lounges and a garage fitted out as a games room, two dogs welcome.
The garage here is not for a car. Somebody has put a pool table in it, a table tennis table, air hockey and a dartboard, and left room round the edges for bikes and wet suits. Station Cottage is dog friendly at Seahouses, two dogs and five people across three bedrooms, its lawned garden enclosed behind. Everything else in the village is a short walk from the gate.
Indoors, a lounge at the front holds a fire and a television, a second one behind it opening into the dining area, so five people get two rooms rather than one. The kitchen lies beyond. Upstairs sit a king, a twin and a single bedroom, with the one bathroom holding a P shaped bath and the shower above it. The dogs keep to the ground floor, which is where all the doors are.
The garage doors are shut but the light inside is on. Table tennis has been running for forty minutes and neither player will concede a point. One dog sits in the doorway between the house and the noise, unwilling to commit to either. The other stayed in by the fire and made the better choice. Somebody comes out for a jumper and does not go back in.
There was a railway here once. The North Sunderland line ran 4 miles from the harbour to the main line at Chathill from 1898 until 1951, worked by one locomotive at a time and never quite paying its way. The buildings have gone, but the course of the line is still legible in the field boundaries behind the village, and the lanes crossing it make a quiet inland walk for the day a dog has had enough sand.

Book with holidaycottages.co.ukFrequently Asked Questions
Is Station Cottage dog friendly?
Yes, Station Cottage welcomes up to two dogs. The garden is lawned and enclosed, so your dogs can be outside safely, and Seahouses itself is a short walk from the gate.
Are dogs allowed at Station Cottage year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, but we'd recommend confirming directly with the owner when you book to be sure.
What should I know before visiting Station Cottage with my dog?
Dogs are kept to the ground floor, which is where all the external doors are, so the upstairs bedrooms are off limits for them. The enclosed garden gives them somewhere to stretch out safely, and if your dog needs a break from the beach, there are quiet inland lanes nearby that follow the course of an old railway line.
