1 / 11Strawberry Cottage - Brighstone
Brighstone, Isle of Wight
A light and airy detached bungalow in a quiet lane at Brighstone on the Isle of Wight, with a fenced and gated lawn at the rear and one dog welcome.
Strawberry Cottage is a light and airy detached bungalow in a quiet lane on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone, and the bridleways and footpaths at the end of that lane lead a dog straight up onto Brighstone Downs. Sleeping four, this dog friendly bungalow welcomes one dog, and the owners may accept two dogs by arrangement, so do enquire.
The bungalow has been tastefully furnished, with plenty of natural light throughout. You come in through a tiled and glazed porch, made for hanging outdoor clothes and storing boots, and meals are prepared in the contemporary kitchen. The dining area sits in a sunny part of the open plan living room, with comfy seats and the Smart TV close by, and that is where the dog stretches out after a day on the Downs. Of the two bedrooms, the king-size enjoys garden views and has a Smart TV, the twin is charming, and the tiled bathroom offers a bath plus a separate shower.
To the rear of the bungalow, a fenced and gated lawn with garden furniture is the place for al fresco meals in the sunshine, with the dog pottering about while the table is laid. To the front there is a pretty garden with shrubbery around the border, and there is storage for bikes and surfboards too.
From Brighstone Downs, the Tennyson Trail can be followed to The Needles on the western tip of the island, or inland to Carisbrooke and its medieval castle, and both make wonderful walking with a dog. The gently curving sand and shingle beach at Brighstone Bay is easily reached, with diving, snorkelling, surfing and windsurfing on offer.

Book with holidaycottages.co.ukFrequently Asked Questions
Is Strawberry Cottage - Brighstone dog friendly?
Yes, Strawberry Cottage welcomes dogs. One dog is included as standard, and a second can be accommodated by arrangement, so it's worth getting in touch if you're travelling with more than one.
Are dogs allowed at Strawberry Cottage - Brighstone year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, and the cottage is described as dog friendly without any time-of-year caveats. For complete peace of mind, it's always worth confirming directly with the owner when you book.
What should I know before visiting Strawberry Cottage - Brighstone with my dog?
The back garden is fenced and gated, giving your dog a secure space to roam freely, but the front garden is unfenced so leads are needed on that side. There's a tiled porch just inside the door, handy for muddy paws after a walk. The lane at the end of the road leads straight onto a bridleway up to Brighstone Downs, and Brighstone Bay is just below the village — so your dog has chalk downland and sandy shingle within easy reach.
