Sunnysands sits on the edge of Beadnell, five minutes' walk from the beautiful horseshoe of Beadnell Bay, and it welcomes two dogs as well. This dog friendly holiday home has plenty of space for all the family, with three bedrooms for five guests and a private, enclosed lawn garden that catches the sun throughout the day.
French doors lead from the pretty, welcoming lounge straight onto the garden, letting the dogs wander between the comfortable seating and the grass. The lounge has a TV and DVD for winding down after a wonderful day out, and the attractively designed kitchen has everything to hand, including a breakfast table for the first coffee. There is a WC on the ground floor too.
Upstairs are three cosy bedrooms, each with a TV and DVD. The master bedroom, with its king size bed, has a Juliet balcony with sea views out towards the Farne Islands and Dunstanburgh Castle and an en suite with a walk in shower, and there is a double, a single and a family bathroom. Back outside, the decking has a table and seating, and evenings end out there with the dogs stretched out on the grass alongside.
Golden sand runs for three miles from Beadnell to Newton by the Sea, famous for water sports and a glorious stretch for walking the dogs. The village has a charming 18th century harbour, a 16th century tower and old lime kilns, and the coastal path leads on to Seahouses, where boat trips sail for the Farne Islands. Alnwick, with its famous castle and garden, and the castles of Bamburgh, Warkworth and Dunstanburgh are all within reach.

Yes, Sunnysands welcomes up to two dogs. The house is well set up for them, with an enclosed lawn and decking off the lounge on the ground floor, and easy access to Beadnell Bay just five minutes away.
Are dogs allowed at Sunnysands year round?
The house itself is available with dogs on the booking, and Beadnell Bay's southern end is open to dogs all year round. During summer, the area around the Long Nanny burn at the far end of the bay is wardened to protect a large Arctic tern colony nesting in the dunes, with a footbridge keeping walkers and dogs clear of the nests.
What should I know before visiting Sunnysands with my dog?
The ground floor is the dog's domain — wooden floors, an enclosed garden, and French doors opening straight out to the lawn make it practical for coming in off the beach. If you're visiting in summer, be aware that the southern end of Beadnell Bay near the Long Nanny burn has a wardened tern colony, so the footbridge there is the route to take to keep dogs away from the nesting area.
