Three dogs are welcome at Swallow Barn, a contemporary rural barn conversion a couple of miles outside the village of Llanilar. It is a peaceful, dog friendly retreat for four, and the walking begins right here: countryside and woodland walks lead away from the doorstep, with a stream nearby and birdlife to look out for.

Indoors, one cosy open room holds the lounge, kitchen and dining table. Light the wood burner in the evening, and once the dogs have claimed their place in front of it nobody is in a hurry to move. Morning tea comes from the stylish kitchen's built in Quooker tap. On the ground floor is the shower room, and the eaves hold both bedrooms, a king size room with zip and link beds that become twins on request and a double with a metal framed bed.

The garden lies at the front, enclosed, laid to gravel with an area of lawn, with a patio table and a charcoal BBQ.
