From the sunroom at Ysgubor Llwynneuadd you look out over the whole sweep of the valley, and from the landing upstairs the outlook reaches even further. This stylish barn sits in a peaceful, remote spot at the centre of Bannau Brycheiniog, the Brecon Beacons National Park, gathering eight friends or family and two dogs together for a dog friendly break.
Floor to ceiling windows flood the airy ground floor with natural light. There are comfortable seats in front of the Smart TV for a family film night, a wood burner stocked for the opening night, a lovely dining area, and a kitchen ready for hearty breakfasts before a day on the hills and good dinners after it. There is a shower room on this floor too. Upstairs are four spacious bedrooms, a pair of doubles, one en suite, a twin and another twin with two pull out singles, along with a bathroom with a bath. Come evening, both dogs are curled up near the wood burner.
The enclosed garden is made for outdoor living, with an outdoor kitchen and moveable bar, a large oak dining table and chairs, a seating area and a fire pit and BBQ supplied with wood. An outside tap is there too, handy for the dogs' muddy paws at the end of a hill day. Because of the rural location and the livestock around, fireworks are not permitted.
Walks through the Welsh countryside bring sightings of the famous red kite, and the adventurous can take the dogs up Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the national park. Sennybridge, 5 miles away, has welcoming country pubs, and Brecon, Llandovery, the Dan-yr-Ogof show caves and Waterfall Country are all within easy reach.
