Indoors, one spacious room for living and dining is laid with wood flooring and a large inglenook fireplace with a multi fuel burner, and comfortable seating gathers round it for reading, a film from the DVD collection, or simply watching the dogs doze off by the fire. The dining table seats six if friends come to supper. Of the two bedrooms, the double lies to the rear and the twin to the front with its own shower and WC, while the family bathroom has an electric shower over its bath.
The garden is at the back, with furniture for drinks in the afternoon sun and suppers outdoors. It is the place to be at the end of the day, two dogs settled at your feet while the sky turns and the stars come out, and the village pub is a short stroll away when nobody wants to cook.
The beach is 3 miles off, and the owner points to Embleton Bay, Low Newton-by-the-Sea and Beadnell Bay for picnics and rock pooling. Craster is 5 miles away for a seafood lunch before a walk with the dogs along the coastal path as far as the impressive ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, and Bamburgh Castle, Howick Hall Gardens and the Farne Islands boat trips from Seahouses are all within reach.
