Beadnell Bay is famous for having the only west facing harbour on the east coast, which makes a stroll at sunset a must, and The Lokki is within walking distance of its horseshoe shaped beach. This beautifully presented dog friendly cottage takes four guests and two dogs, and has an enclosed lawn and a summer house to make the most of every day.
Coats and shoes come off in the hallway, and straight ahead is the bright lounge and diner, with comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a log burning fire for cosy evenings. Two dogs back from the dunes soon find their way to its warmth. A dining table seats four, and from the kitchen there is a view over the garden.
The king size bedroom overlooks the garden and the twin is cosy, both with Smart TVs, alongside the shower room. In the summer house there is more comfortable seating for a morning coffee or a quiet read, and bench seating on the patio overlooks the enclosed lawn, which the dogs will have explored thoroughly by breakfast. The garage takes bikes, water sports kit and golf clubs.
The bay is made for rock pooling, picnics in the dunes and every water sport from kite and windsurfing to sailing and bodyboarding. The historic National Trust lime kilns and the Long Nanny nature reserve, with its array of seabirds, are close by, and the dogs will enjoy every step of the walk to Low Newton beach, where the beachside pub does lunch. Seahouses has boat trips to the Farne Islands, and Bamburgh, Holy Island and Alnwick Castle make fine days out.
