The Stock Barn

Trimingham, Norfolk

A three bedroom barn for six at Trimingham on the Norfolk coast, all on one floor, with a secure garden of several spaces, a wood burner and two dogs welcome.

This garden has more than one space in it and all of them are inside the same boundary, which is not how a cottage garden with a dog in it usually turns out. The Stock Barn spreads six across three bedrooms at Trimingham, dog friendly, one floor end to end, two dogs allowed, French doors out of the sitting room onto it.

You come into a lobby laid with hand cast clay tiles, and that is where two dogs leave whatever came back off the coast. The hall beyond has the original beams over it and the main bathroom off the middle. Right of the hall is the kitchen, and one step up from there the dining room, built to the full height of the barn and beamed to the ridge, with a table for six under it.

An inglenook chimney breast rather than a wall divides that room from the sitting room, so two dogs can lie in one and watch the other, which is very nearly all they ask of a floor plan. Three sofas face the burner. The bedrooms take the other fork of the barn: the master with a fitted wet room, a second double, and a third with adult sized bunk beds.

Trimingham keeps to the cliff road and amounts to little more than that, which on this coast reads as the point rather than a shortage. The coastal road runs the top of it both ways with sand strung along underneath, and the lanes turning inland empty out inside a mile. Two dogs get a clifftop from the door and a choice of beach whichever way the car turns.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is The Stock Barn dog friendly?

Yes, The Stock Barn welcomes up to two dogs. The barn is all on one floor with French doors opening directly from the sitting room into the garden, which has several separate spaces all within a secure boundary — a genuinely practical setup for dogs.

  • Are dogs allowed at The Stock Barn year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth getting in touch with the owner directly to confirm availability for your travel dates. What the barn does offer year round is good walking country right on the doorstep — clifftop paths and beach access in both directions from Trimingham.

  • What should I know before visiting The Stock Barn with my dog?

The barn takes a maximum of two dogs. There's a lobby with hand cast clay tiles just inside the entrance — clearly designed with muddy paws in mind after a day on the coast. The beach and clifftop are within easy reach on foot from the property, with quiet inland lanes to explore too.
