Book now

Tiches Cottage sits deep in the Oxfordshire countryside among patchwork fields, and its garden wraps all the way round the house. This dog friendly cottage for five has an enclosed garden surrounding the house, where kids and dogs are safe to play, and miles of walks and cycle trails begin at the front door, with two dogs welcome to join in.

The hall is where shoes and coats are left. In the lounge an open fire burns, with comfy sofas to sink into and a Smart TV for films, and before the film starts both dogs are flat out beside the fire. Family meals are easy in a kitchen equipped for the job. Bedrooms are two doubles and a single, styled in a country theme with wooden cabinets and wardrobes, and there is a bath in the family bathroom for a long soak.

Outside there is a private hot tub, a BBQ, patio areas and comfy seating, and the dogs can roam the garden while the grill heats up. Just outside the gates stands a renovated barn games room for the exclusive use of guests, with table tennis, a darts board and children's toys, and the bikes have a home in there too. It suits a family that likes a competitive evening.

The owners call this a playground for dog walkers and hikers, and the fields around the cottage bear that out. For a day out, the National Trust's Stowe Gardens, one of the finest Georgian landscape gardens with more than 30 temples and monuments, is 5 miles away. Bicester Village is 8 miles off, and Blenheim Palace and the city of Oxford are within a longer drive after a morning out with the dogs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Tiches Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Tiches Cottage welcomes up to two dogs. The cottage has an enclosed garden that wraps all the way around the house, and the hot tub is set within that enclosed ground too, so your dogs can be with you throughout. It's a genuinely dog-considered setup rather than an afterthought.

  • Are dogs allowed at Tiches Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth getting in touch with the owner directly to confirm availability for your dates. What we can say is that the enclosed garden and the layout of the property make it a comfortable base for dogs whatever time of year you visit.

  • What should I know before visiting Tiches Cottage with my dog?

The property takes a maximum of two dogs, and the enclosed garden running on all four sides of the house means they have plenty of room to roam safely. Nearby, Stowe landscape garden is 4.2 miles away and is described as a brilliant outing for dogs — 250 acres of lakes, temples and open paths designed to be crossed slowly, which suits most dogs very well.
