Winn's Cottage

Mundesley, Norfolk

A two bedroom cottage for four at Mundesley on the north Norfolk coast, an end of terrace with an enclosed garden behind, a downstairs WC and one dog welcome.

There are rock pools on this beach, which on a coast made almost entirely of sand is not what anybody arrives expecting. They are shallow ones and they come out at low water. Winn's Cottage is the end of a terrace at Mundesley, dog friendly, four across two bedrooms, one dog allowed, an enclosed garden behind it.

You come in to a lobby, which is where the sand stops, and the lounge is through from it with the kitchen and the dining table past that. A WC on this floor saves a climb. The stairs go up out of the kitchen rather than out of a hall, which is an odd plan and has the effect of making the whole ground floor a single route from the front door to the back one, which one dog will have walked twenty times by Tuesday.

Above are the double and the twin, with a family bathroom where the shower runs over the bath. The garden behind it is enclosed, with seating out on the paving. One dog and four people is the booking, and the plan of the house means that dog is never further than one room from whoever it has decided to follow.

Mundesley's beach huts stand in a painted line above the sand, and the sand itself runs gold and goes a long way out when the tide drops. The village behind them is Victorian and has kept its shops and its cafes rather than losing them. One dog gets the tideline at the front of the day and quiet streets at the back of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Winn's Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Winn's Cottage welcomes one dog. It's an end-of-terrace cottage in Mundesley with an enclosed garden behind it, so your dog has a secure outdoor space to enjoy alongside direct access to Mundesley's long sandy beach.

  • Are dogs allowed at Winn's Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs at Winn's Cottage. For confirmation of availability at specific times of year, it's worth checking directly with the property when booking.

  • What should I know before visiting Winn's Cottage with my dog?

The booking allows one dog and up to four people. The layout of the cottage works well for dogs — the ground floor runs as a single open route from front door to back, so your dog is rarely more than a room away from whoever they've decided to shadow. Outside, the enclosed garden has paved seating, and Mundesley beach is right on the doorstep with a long stretch of sand and rock pools that emerge at low tide.
