Bredon Hill Circular Walk from Bredon Village

Worcestershire

Dog Friendly Rating: 5/10 A long climb out of Bredon village to the isolated summit of Bredon Hill, rewarding but heavy with livestock.

Bredon Hill is a detached Cotswold outlier rising 299 metres above the Vale of Evesham, a National Nature Reserve with iron age earthworks on the summit. The circular from Bredon village is dog friendly in that it follows public rights of way across the hill, but livestock make it a stricter lead walk than most in this county.

The 14 km loop climbs gradually out of Bredon through orchard and woodland before opening onto the exposed sheep pasture near the top, where the Banbury Stone and Parsons Folly sit on the summit. Expect sheep, horses and cattle in most fields, so dogs need to be on a lead throughout, and smaller dogs may struggle with some of the older stiles. Free parking is in the village, with the Royal Oak pub handy for afterwards.
