Broadway Tower Circular Walk

This 5.6 km circuit approaches Broadway Tower from the quieter side, climbing gently through rolling Cotswold pasture and enclosed meadows where beech hedgerows frame the views ahead. The Gothic folly, built in 1799 as a beacon and perched on the ridge above the village, comes into view repeatedly as you approach, drawing you forward across the landscape. The 275 m of climbing is steady and the terrain consistently gentle, rolling rather than steep, with country lanes and field paths making up most of the route. The walk feels substantial without being exhausting, and the views back toward the Vale of Evesham broaden with every step gained, stretching to the Forest of Dean on clear days.

This is a dog friendly walk with excellent off-lead potential across the open pasture sections where the ground is clear and visibility good. Sheep graze the enclosed fields near the tower, so leads must be kept close when livestock are present. The rolling terrain provides good exercise without demanding technical ability, and the open hilltop gives dogs the kind of space and airflow they thrive on. Broadway village is reliably welcoming to dogs, with several pubs and establishments that cater well to four-legged visitors, and the tower cafe can be dog-friendly depending on the season. Weekday visits are significantly quieter than summer weekends. A walk that combines gentle Cotswold countryside with a genuine destination and rewarding views.
