Clowes Wood and New Fallings Coppice

West Midlands

Dog Friendly Rating: 8/10 A dog friendly woodland loop through Warwickshire Wildlife Trust's Clowes Wood and New Fallings Coppice, linking bluebell-rich oak woods with Earlswood Lakes.

Clowes Wood and New Fallings Coppice is an SSSI managed by the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, a pocket of ancient oak and birch woodland, wet meadows and heathland on the edge of Earlswood. This easy circular links the reserve with nearby Earlswood Lakes and Terry's Pool along the Birmingham to Stratford canal, giving you a properly dog friendly mix of shady woodland, open water and quiet country lanes.

Dogs can trot off lead through most of the woodland, with a lead needed where the route meets the canal towpath, at road crossings and around grazing livestock on adjacent farmland. The paths are mainly level and well trodden, though expect mud and some roots after wet weather. Parking is off Wood Lane between the Earlswood Craft Centre and the Methodist Church, with cafes at the craft centre and alongside the lakes for a post-walk stop.
