Lickey Hills Country Park Circular Walk
Worcestershire
Just south of Birmingham, the Lickey Hills are a chain of wooded ridges with the Beacon Hill viewpoint the stand out spot. This 9 km circular is a firm local favourite and is dog friendly, with off lead walking permitted on nearly all the trails.
The going is mostly undulating woodland with a steady climb up to Beacon Hill and a gentler one to Bilberry Hill, and paths are well drained so usable in all seasons. Dogs can be off lead across the main trails but must stay out of the visitor centre building, and a dog water bowl is on the terrace outside. Parking is free at the visitor centre, though it fills up by mid morning on sunny weekends.

Yes, Lickey Hills Country Park Circular Walk is a great choice for dogs, earning a strong 8/10 for dog friendliness on our directory. The 9 km loop through oak and beech woodland is a firm local favourite, and there's even a dog water bowl on the terrace outside the visitor centre to keep your pup refreshed.
Off lead walking is permitted on nearly all of the main trails, which makes this a particularly appealing route for dogs who love to roam. The one restriction to be aware of is that dogs must not enter the visitor centre building itself, though they're welcome on the terrace outside.
The paths are well drained and usable year-round, but it's worth arriving early on sunny weekends as the free car park at the visitor centre tends to fill up by mid morning.
