Morte Point and Bull Point Circular
Devon
This dog friendly North Devon walk leaves Mortehoe village and follows the South West Coast Path out along the jagged finger of Morte Point, where the slate ribs run straight into the sea and seals are often seen on the offshore rocks. The route then curls north past Rockham Bay to the white-painted Bull Point Lighthouse, before turning inland through farmland and quiet lanes back to Mortehoe.
Dogs are welcome on the whole circuit, but cattle and sheep graze the cliff fields most of the year so a lead is needed across all the inland sections and on the headland itself when stock is present. The path is rocky, steep in places and slippery in wet weather, with unfenced drops on Morte Point, so this is a route for sure-footed dogs and walkers. Pay and display parking is at the Mortehoe Museum car park or the village car park, and Mortehoe has dog friendly pubs and a tearoom for the finish.
