Win Hill from Hope Village

Win Hill is one of the most distinctive summits in the Hope Valley, a shapely little peak that rises cleanly above Ladybower. This dog friendly circular from Hope village makes a steady climb through fields and open hillside to the rocky summit cairn, where the view takes in Mam Tor, Lose Hill, Kinder Scout and the full length of the reservoir. The return descends through Twitchill Farm and the pretty hamlet of Aston back into Hope.
Most of the upper hillside is open access moorland where dogs can run off lead, but the lower fields are grazed by sheep and livestock so a lead is needed on the approach and descent. The initial climb is steep and the summit is exposed, so in strong wind or wet weather paws can find the rock slippery. Hope village has pubs, cafes and a bakery for afterwards, and the Cheshire Cheese and the Woodroffe Arms are both reliably dog friendly.
