Graig Wen

Gwynedd

Dog Friendly Rating:10/10A dog friendly campsite on the edge of the Mawddach Estuary near Barmouth, with dog friendly tents, yurts and cottages, plus a small dog fee donated to rescue.

Graig Wen sits on the edge of the Mawddach Estuary near Barmouth and is one of the most characterful dog friendly campsites in Snowdonia. The site has a welcoming community feel and combines wild beauty with easy access to coastal Wales. Options range from tent pitches tucked among the trees to glamping yurts and cottages, all of which accept dogs. The owners have their own dogs on site, two rescue lurchers called Bryn and Franklin, which sets the tone for how genuinely dog friendly the place is.

Dogs will love the woodland walks leading directly from the campsite down to the estuary trail, which joins the popular Mawddach Trail, a flat, traffic-free route that is ideal for dog walks. There is a small charge per dog, and every penny is donated to Almost Home Dog Rescue, which has received over £3,000 from camper contributions in recent years. It is a charge most owners will be glad to pay.
