1 / 8Ardoe House Hotel & Spa
Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire
Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms, up to 2 dogs per room.
A nineteenth century baronial mansion in 30 acres near Aberdeen, with a spa, a brasserie and comfy beds for both you and the dog.
Ardoe House was built in 1878 by the son of an Aberdeen soap merchant, stayed a family home until 1947 and then opened its doors to guests. The baronial mansion sits in 30 acres of grounds. A dog friendly hotel, it gives the dog a bed as comfortable as yours.
The dog friendly rooms are a limited number, and two dogs can share one of them, with comfy beds for both you and the pup and the amenities a dog needs. The rooms have a tea and coffee station, Gordon Castle toiletries and a shower. On dogs left alone in a room the hotel doesn't say anything, so ask at the time of booking.
Dinner is a choice: Blairs Restaurant for local produce done properly, or Soapies Brasserie beside the crackling fire, where the cocktails come with mandarin marmalade, Earl Grey or lemongrass in them. The Drawing Room does breakfast, light bites and afternoon tea, there is a whisky bar, and the Sunday carvery is a traditional roast. Where a dog can join you the hotel doesn't say, so add that to the booking email.
The Spa at Ardoe has a sauna and steam room, and the health club an 18 metre heated pool, a jacuzzi and a fitness studio. Aberdeen Beach, 4.5 miles away, is our closest dog friendly beach, and its page holds the rules for a dog on the sand.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
