Littleover Lodge Hotel

Derby

Yes. Dogs can stay in selected rooms.

A hotel around a former 1850s farmhouse in Littleover, near Derby, with designated dining areas open to well behaved dogs.

The former 1850s farmhouse at the heart of Littleover Lodge Hotel is still the centre of things, holding the bar and restaurant on its ground floor. It stands on Rykneld Road in Littleover, near the city of Derby and a short drive from the Peak District National Park, and this dog friendly hotel has kept its personal touch.

Dog friendly rooms are limited in number, which is why pets must be pre-booked, and it is well behaved dogs the hotel has in mind. Pets aren't allowed to sleep overnight in standard vehicles parked at the hotel. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated, each with an en suite bath or shower, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary refreshments and a spacious double wardrobe, and room rates include a continental breakfast. Two questions to put when you book, since the hotel doesn't mention either: the number of dogs allowed in a room, and leaving a dog on its own.

Well behaved dogs can join you in designated dining areas, so give the hotel notice that yours is coming. The ground floor of the original house is home to the Lodge Bar & Dining, a contemporary restaurant with a freshly produced gastro menu, a locally sourced carvery and pizza, alongside a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. The carvery is popular with locals and visitors alike, and there are outdoor eating and drinking areas too.

Children are welcome, with extra beds for under 12s and cots on request. Days out from here take in Kedleston Hall and Darley Abbey, both close by, and the Peak District National Park is a short drive away for a bigger day out with your dog.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
