1 / 8The Dixon, Tower Bridge
Southwark, London
Yes. Dogs can stay overnight.
A boutique hotel of 193 rooms in the old Tower Bridge Magistrates' Court, where your dog is welcome with you in the restaurant.
In 1905 the building that is now The Dixon was the Tower Bridge Magistrates' Court, housing courtrooms, a police station and jail cells. Fully restored and Grade II-listed, the building now holds 193 rooms and suites a few steps from Tower Bridge and London Bridge, and works as a dog friendly hotel, with dogs welcome in the restaurant alongside you.
Three things the hotel does not say: which of its rooms a dog may sleep in, how many dogs are allowed, and whether there is a charge, so put all three to them when you book. What it does offer is rooms that wear their history: many keep original Edwardian high ceilings, decorative covings and fireplaces, with parquet flooring combined with carpet in an original Edwardian pattern and artwork of legendary local figures on the walls. At the top of the range, the Orwell Suite has a separate living room and a view of The Shard.
Shakedown is the hotel's restaurant, an all-day room of pizzettas, pasta, prosecco and Italian plates meant for sharing, named for the searches the police once ran in this building. The Courtroom Bar sits beneath the judge's original oak canopy, the magistrate's bench now a marble-clad sunken bar and the original wood panelling framing every round, with afternoon tea served under 193 suspended spheres. The hotel does not state whether a dog can settle in the Courtroom Bar.
The gym is open to guests 24 hours a day, fitted with Matrix equipment, a free weight area and a refreshment station. The Tower of London and Maltby St Market are within walking distance, and Wildpack has Victoria Park Perimeter Walk 2.6 miles away for the dog, with the Thames Path: Greenwich to Woolwich a little further out.
Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
