The Waterfront Southport Hotel puts the beach just steps away, though with a dog, Wildpack points you to Southport Beach, 0.7 miles from the door, as the nearest of our mapped dog friendly beaches. The hotel overlooks Marine Lake from the Promenade, and the lake even has dog poo bins to keep things tidy. As a dog friendly hotel by the sea it keeps five rooms for dogs among its 131 bedrooms.

Those five rooms come ready with a cosy dog bed, feed and water bowls and poo bags, and if there's a little accident, a cleaning kit is on hand on request. Tell the hotel ahead of arrival when your dog is joining you. Two points the hotel doesn't say, so raise them at booking: the dog limit per room, and whether a dog may be on its own in the room.

A drink in the bar is the one to share, with your dog on a lead at your side. Pets aren't allowed in the main restaurant. The Waterfront Marina Restaurant covers you from breakfast to dinner, with an afternoon tea that comes with a view, and the bar mixes cocktails from premium spirits alongside wines and beers. Up on the Sun Terrace there's fresh coastal air and a view over the Waterfront.

The Waterfront Rooms have a balcony overlooking the coast, from which you may even spot Blackpool Tower, and there are penthouse suites with wide views. For your dog, Southport Beach heads the list of dog friendly beaches near the hotel on Wildpack.

Facts checked October 2026 from the hotel's own website. Details can change, so please confirm anything important, especially the dog rules, with the hotel before you book.
