Bay View is a beautiful, contemporary holiday home built in 2022 and set between Sandown's town centre and the beach, so a stroll down to the Esplanade with two dogs is part of every day. It is a stylish, dog friendly base for four on the Isle of Wight, with the beach, shops and pubs all close by.

The porch is the place to drop beach shoes and hang jackets as you come in, with a WC alongside. Beyond it, the bright and airy open plan kitchen and living area has plenty of comfortable places to sit, plus a Smart TV. If your dog will get on the sofa, the owner asks that you use the blankets provided, and then the evening after a long day at the beach is yours to enjoy. Upstairs, the master has a super king bed, a Smart TV and shutters that open onto a glimpse of sea views, the twin has shutters too, and the family bathroom's tub invites a long soak.

Out the back, a private, enclosed garden has seating for meals outdoors at any time of day, and a collection of beach toys and games is kept there ready for the next trip to the sand. The dogs will happily take up their places in the garden while lunch is laid out.

The pier has arcades and ice creams, and Ferncliff Gardens and the coastal path are 0.5 miles away for walks with the dogs. Wildheart Animal Sanctuary and Dinosaur Isle are close to Sandown, while Tapnell Farm and the Isle of Wight Aqua Park lie further afield. The owner asks that wet or muddy dogs are kept off the light coloured carpets upstairs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Bay View - Sandown dog friendly?

Yes, Bay View welcomes up to two dogs. The owners have thought it through properly — blankets are left out for the sofa, and the house has an enclosed garden that's ideal for keeping wet or muddy dogs contained when you get back from the beach.

  • Are dogs allowed at Bay View - Sandown year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the owners directly to confirm availability for your dates. Given the setup — enclosed garden, dog-ready furniture, year-round beach access a third of a mile away — it reads like a place set up for regular dog-friendly bookings.

  • What should I know before visiting Bay View - Sandown with my dog?

The owners ask that you use the blankets provided if your dog gets on the sofa, and that a wet dog is towelled off before jumping up — a fair and sensible ask. The enclosed garden is great for drying off after the beach, and you can bring up to two dogs. Sandown beach is just a third of a mile downhill, with a long stretch of sand running all the way to Culver Cliff at Yaverland.
