This family friendly and dog friendly cottage holds a five star grading, and out the back an enclosed, south-facing garden looks out over the fields.
Beautiful sandstone flooring and feature beams run right through the open plan ground floor, warmed by underfloor heating. The lounge has a cosy wood burner, comfy seating, a Smart TV and an office area, the spacious kitchen has an electric range-style oven, and the dining table opposite is where friends and family catch up. Off the kitchen, the utility, coat and boot room has plenty of space for your dog's bed and opens out to the enclosed garden.
A sandstone staircase leads to three beautifully styled contemporary bedrooms, all en suite. From the back bedroom you look over the garden, and its en suite has a floor-to-ceiling window of one-way glass, so you can enjoy the countryside in complete privacy. The pretty double has an original feature fireplace, and next door is the family bathroom, its freestanding bath ready for long, relaxing soaks. Summer evenings belong to the garden, with a book, a glass of wine and the dog beside your chair.
Take the boat from the village to Howtown, walk on to Glenridding and catch the boat back, one of Wordsworth's favourite walks, with views of Ullswater and Helvellyn. Moor Divock has prehistoric remains and a stone circle, Dalemain Mansion and its historic gardens make a fine day out, and Aira Force, 6 miles away, is set among ancient woodland and landscaped glades. With the fells to explore, the dog sleeps well every night.
