Cartworth View is an attractive terraced cottage a short stroll up the hill from the centre of Holmfirth, with views over Cartworth Moor and walks straight from the doorstep. Room is made for six guests and their two dogs, and on the edge of the Peak District National Park walkers and cyclists find this dog friendly cottage ideally placed.
The welcoming entrance hall is the place for coats and muddy boots after a day of exploring. The cosy lounge has a gas fire, a Smart TV and beautiful views from its large windows, and the dogs are soon settled in front of the fire. Through in the spacious kitchen and diner, the main hub of the house, the coffee machine sees to the morning while the day gets planned at the table.
Up on the first floor are a zip and link super king, a double and the house bathroom, and on the second floor a twin and a single are both full of character under sloping ceilings. Outside, the enclosed front garden has a seating area well placed for the countryside views, a lovely place for a glass of wine with the dogs beside you, while the rear patio, with its outdoor furniture and charcoal BBQ, is ready for dining alfresco.
Holmfirth is a short stroll down the hill, with quaint streets of independent shops, bars and eateries, its own vineyard and the Picturedrome, one of the finest live music venues in the north. The Holme Valley and the West Yorkshire Pennines spread out all around, with walks aplenty for the dogs straight from the doorstep, and both the Tour de France and the Tour de Yorkshire have passed through the town.
