Almost hidden away in one of Harrogate's leafy suburbs, Colcote Cottage is a superb contemporary cottage for four, and a properly dog friendly one: behind it lies a sheltered private garden of lawn and patio where dogs and children can play. Two dogs are welcome, and a dog bowl and towels are provided for them.
The side entrance opens into a spacious, light filled kitchen and dining room overlooking the enclosed lawned garden, with a snug beside the French doors for reading and a separate laundry area. The delightful lounge has a wood burner for cosy film nights, logs supplied to get it going, and the dogs will not stray far from its warmth. A welcome hamper is waiting too.
Through the French windows is the cottage's own garden, a large lawn and a patio that catches the early morning sunshine, where the dogs can play while the coffee is made. At the front there is a pretty south west facing cottage garden as well. Up the stairs, two light and bright bedrooms comprise a king size master with a pretty white iron bed and a walk in wardrobe area and a twin of zip and link beds overlooking the rear garden, along with a stylish family bathroom where a roll top bath stands with a walk in shower.
Harrogate town centre is 1.2 miles away, with the Convention Centre and the Yorkshire Events Centre both convenient. Nidderdale is a short drive, with Wensleydale beyond, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors are close enough for big days out with the dogs, and the medieval city of York is easy to reach by train or car.
