Eachwick Stables is a charming, dog friendly stables conversion for a big group, set in the grounds of a historic country hall in a pretty hamlet near Stamfordham, with walks straight from the door for three dogs. Sleeping eleven across six bedrooms, it is made for multi generation families, friends and special occasions, and the generous enclosed garden runs to 30 metres.
The wide hallway doubles as a boot room, with an original limestone floor and space for coats and boots after a muddy walk with the dogs. The spacious kitchen and dining space has huge windows at each end, an island to sit at while the cook works, and a large dining table. Through a door, the lounge has exposed beams, feature stone walls and two seating areas, one around the cosy wood burner and one for the Smart TV, with underfloor heating across the ground floor.
A quiet king size bedroom, which can become a twin, sits on the ground floor beside a shower room. Upstairs are five more: a super king with an en suite shower room as well as a separate bath set in an alcove, a king with its own bathroom, two twins and a pretty single, plus the family bathroom. Outside, the garden has furniture for dining out and room for three dogs to roam, and there is a shared tennis court too.
Ponteland, 4.5 miles away, has quality shops, pubs and restaurants, and Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens has miles of gardens to explore. Hexham's magnificent abbey, Corbridge's Roman history and the forts along Hadrian's Wall are all within reach, and the Blue Flag beaches at Whitley Bay and Tynemouth make a fine day on the sand for three dogs.
