Book now

Efail Fach sits in the hamlet of Llanon, within walking distance of Trefin, and pretty lanes lead from it towards the local beaches. Four guests and a pair of dogs settle into this dog friendly Pembrokeshire cottage, where an enclosed lawn garden looks out to the sea.

Glass bi-folding doors open from the decked area into a fabulous sun room, the spot for watching the evening sunsets with two dogs stretched out at your feet. Beyond it the cosy lounge has charming exposed stone walls, comfortable sofas and a wood burner, open plan to a contemporary kitchen and dining area that makes the whole space friendly and inviting. The two bedrooms, a pretty double and a twin, are both on the ground floor.

Look up and the A-frame beams hint that there is more to be discovered. Above is a wonderful second galleried lounge, known as a crog loft, with a rural outlook to the coastline beyond, a lovely place to sit with a good book while below the dogs doze in the glow of the wood burner. Outside, the enclosed lawn garden has furniture for enjoying the sea views, and an outside tap takes care of muddy paws and boots when everyone is back from the coastal path.

The nearest beaches begin a mile or so away. Aberfelin Bay has sand and shingle and reveals an archway at low tide, a fine one for two dogs to explore, and Abermawr, Abercastle and Abereiddy, with its famous blue lagoon, are there to visit too. The pub and cafe in Trefin are within walking distance, and the coast path offers beautiful scenery whatever the season.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Efail Fach dog friendly?

Yes, Efail Fach welcomes up to two dogs. The property has an enclosed lawn where they can roam freely, and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs past the end of the village, giving you and your dogs immediate access to miles of coastal walking.

  • Are dogs allowed at Efail Fach year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to confirm directly with the property when you book. What's clear is that two dogs are welcome, and the coastal walking on the doorstep is worth the trip at any time of year.

  • What should I know before visiting Efail Fach with my dog?

The property takes a maximum of two dogs, so it's not suited to larger groups of animals. There's an enclosed lawn for them to settle into on arrival, and the bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower — handy for rinsing muddy dogs after a day on the coast path without holding everyone else up.
