Solva to St Davids Coastal Walk

Pembrokeshire

Dog Friendly Rating: 9/10 A spectacular dog friendly section of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path linking the pretty harbour village of Solva with St Davids over rugged clifftop and hidden coves.

The stretch of Pembrokeshire Coast Path between Solva and St Davids is one of the most beautiful in the National Park, a roller coaster of plunging clifftop, hidden sandy coves and constantly changing seabird views, with the cathedral city of St Davids at the western end. This dog friendly walk runs the full coastal section between the two as a linear walk, with the option to use the seasonal Puffin Shuttle bus or Coastal Cruiser to return.

The terrain is classic Pembrokeshire Coast Path, mostly grassy clifftop with several steep climbs in and out of valleys and many stone steps. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under close control near cliff edges and where livestock graze (sheep are common on the inland fields). St Davids is a fully dog friendly small city with cafes, the cathedral grounds and several pubs welcoming dogs. Pay and display parking at Solva and at St Davids, with the bus service running thrice daily in summer.
