Einion is a spacious barn conversion on a single storey, approached by a track through magnificent woodland near Machynlleth, and it is offered to friends, families and the dog alike. The grounds run to acres of nature reserve, with a stream, unique woodland habitats, an SSSI and a path leading up to Pumlumon, so this dog friendly barn puts the wild right outside the door for two dogs.

Underfloor heating and a cosy log burner keep the barn warm. You walk into one large open plan room, with the stylish kitchen to the left, its French doors giving onto the garden, a dining table for planning the days out, and comfortable sofas and a Smart TV for the evenings, when the dogs settle in the glow of the burner.

A leisurely bath waits in the lovely bathroom, and the two wonderful bedrooms, the king size and the zip and link twin, promise a restful night and beautiful views in the morning. The enclosed garden has its own picnic bench and barbecue, and from it a deck leads down to another place to sit, with fabulous views all day long. The two dogs explore while supper cooks.

Machynlleth, 4 miles away, is a vibrant historic market town with quirky shops, cafés and MOMA Wales, and its Wednesday market is the oldest street market in Britain. Pumlumon, Glyndwr's Way and the sandy beach at Aberdyfi are all within easy reach, and RSPB Ynys hir has its own nature trails, so two dogs and their walkers will never run short of country.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Einion dog friendly?

Yes, Einion welcomes up to two dogs. It's a single-storey barn, so there are no stairs for dogs to navigate, and the enclosed garden gives them room to roam freely between two connected seating areas.

  • Are dogs allowed at Einion year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the owners directly to confirm availability for your dates. With underfloor heating and a wood burner inside, it certainly sounds like a comfortable base whatever the season.

  • What should I know before visiting Einion with my dog?

Einion takes a maximum of two dogs and is designed with them genuinely in mind — single-storey layout, underfloor heating for drying off after wet walks, and an enclosed garden so they can be outside safely without constant supervision. The surrounding area offers quiet lanes and access to Glyndwr's Way and the Pumlumon hills, so there's plenty of walking on the doorstep, with Machynlleth just 2 miles away.
