Eithinfa

Aberdovey, Gwynedd

A five bedroom house for ten above Aberdyfi with an enclosed garden, a hot tub, a fire pit, a bike washdown and one dog welcome.

There is a washdown outside for bikes and a locked bar to leave them on, which is a fair guide to why people come here. Eithinfa sleeps ten above Aberdyfi, five star and dog friendly, five bedrooms and three bathrooms with a bunk room among them, and an enclosed garden that looks over the links. One dog is allowed. You take it out of that garden and down to the sand in the time it takes to find a lead.

Ten people generate laundry, and the utility holds a washing machine and two tumble dryers, which is over-provision until the fourth day on a beach. Outside, the enclosed garden holds the barbecue, a fire pit and a hot tub, and the one dog on the booking gets the whole of it while everybody else is arguing about the fire.

Four of the five bedrooms are super king and the fifth is bunks, so this suits two or three families rather than one. The lounge is built round a wood burner and the kitchen runs two ovens, which is the difference between feeding ten and cooking for ten. A dog in a house this size ends up wherever the food is, and stays there.

Behind the village the old road climbs onto the ridge, and Llyn Barfog lies up on it in a hollow of rough ground: the Bearded Lake, where Arthur is said to have hauled a monster out of the water, with a hoofprint in a stone nearby as proof. The way up is long, the way down longer, and there is nothing on either but sheep. One dog will do the whole of it and want the beach afterwards.

We research every description carefully and believe it to be accurate, but details can change. Please confirm anything important, especially dog rules, with the booking agent or property owner before you book.
