1 / 16Hotspur View
Alnwick, Northumberland
A two bedroom house for four and one dog in the old part of Alnwick, round the corner from the castle, with an enclosed back garden, patio and seating.
Harry Hotspur was the most famous of the Percys, and the Percys still live in the castle just round the corner from Hotspur View, in the old part of Alnwick. It is a dog friendly house for four and one dog, with a kitchen that looks over an enclosed back garden and the cobbled streets a few steps from the front door.
The house stands high, so there is a flight of nine steps to the front door, or a ramp at the back for an older dog or anyone carrying bags. Downstairs is a living room and a kitchen with room to eat, and the kitchen doors open onto the garden: enclosed, laid to patio with a sitting area and furniture, and private enough for one dog to be let out first thing without a lead. Upstairs are a king size bedroom, a twin and the bathroom.
This is a house for walking everywhere, a couple or a small family leaving the car where it is for the week. Out in the morning for a walk, back through the market place for coffee, and home to a dog already waiting by the back door. There are doggy extras put out on arrival, and the evening is simple: a meal at the kitchen table with the garden doors open and the dog on the patio.
Alnwick Castle is the reason most people come, and the Alnwick Garden next to it has the Grand Cascade and the famous poison garden. Alnmouth, a few miles east, has a long golden beach at the mouth of the Aln where dogs are welcome, and the whole Northumberland coast opens up north of it.

Book with cottages.comFrequently Asked Questions
Is Hotspur View dog friendly?
Yes, Hotspur View welcomes one dog. The house has an enclosed back garden with a patio and seating area, private enough for your dog to be let out first thing without a lead, and there are doggy extras put out on arrival to give you both a good start.
Are dogs allowed at Hotspur View year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to check directly with the owner when booking to confirm availability for your dates.
What should I know before visiting Hotspur View with my dog?
The house accommodates one dog, so it's not suitable for multi-dog households. There's a flight of nine steps up to the front door, but a ramp at the back makes things easier for older or less mobile dogs — or anyone arriving with bags. The surrounding streets are cobbled and walkable, and Alnmouth beach, a few miles east, is a great option for a longer dog-friendly outing.
