Ivy Shepherds Hut sits in a pretty countryside setting with far reaching views, a tranquil escape among the protected landscapes of the South Hams, well placed for its many sandy beaches. This dog friendly couples' retreat welcomes one dog alongside its two guests, and it is the only hut on the site, so the peace and quiet is all yours.
Up the steps and you are straight into the open plan space, where lounge, kitchen, dining and sleeping all share the one room. The double bed has windows beside it for taking in the countryside views from under the duvet, the living space has comfortable seating and a dining table that folds down when needed, and the kitchen area has a two ring induction hob, a fridge and a microwave. While you put your feet up, the dog settles in at your feet. The en suite, with its walk-in shower cubicle and WC, rounds off this beautiful rustic hut.
Outside there is a lovely private garden area to the front with garden furniture, the spot for a drink in the fresh countryside air, and a BBQ for supper outdoors. For proper exercise, guests are welcome to use the enclosed orchard, and that is where the dog gets to stretch its legs. One dog is welcome, and two small dogs may be considered if you enquire.
The beautiful shingle beach at Beesands is close by, with a local pub, a cafe and a restaurant. Kingsbridge, a traditional English market town 6 miles away, sits on its own estuary among green rolling countryside that walkers and their dogs love. Salcombe is within reach too, with a wide variety of activities on and off the water.
