Jasmine Cottage

Montrose, Angus

A single storey farm cottage for six above Montrose, with a fully enclosed garden looking to the sea, a private hot tub, a wood burner and two dogs welcome.

Book now

From the garden at Jasmine Cottage the view runs across rolling farmland to the Montrose Basin and on to the North Sea. It is a renovated farm cottage on a working farm in Angus, raised enough to see all of that, and this dog friendly cottage sleeps six people and two dogs on a single level.

The rooms are generous. The lounge has a wood burner, with fuel to start, and patio doors onto the garden. The kitchen and dining area opens to the garden as well, and there is a separate utility room. Two king size bedrooms, one with its own shower, and a twin sit off the same floor, along with the family bathroom, which has a bath and a shower cubicle. With no stairs anywhere, an older dog can go wherever the family goes.

The garden is fully enclosed and looks out over the fields. It has seating, and a private hot tub with room for six, and it is a good size for two dogs to use properly. This is a working farm, so it is worth having a lead ready whenever the dogs go beyond the garden fence. The best of it comes after dark: the tub warm, the dogs sprawled by the stove inside, and the lights of the coast out across the basin.

The Montrose Basin is a tidal nature reserve where thousands of migrating birds come and go through the year, and the long sands of Montrose Beach, St Cyrus and Lunan Bay are all a short drive for a beach walk with the dogs. Montrose itself has one of the oldest golf links in the world, and the Angus glens lie inland.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Jasmine Cottage dog friendly?

Yes, Jasmine Cottage welcomes up to two dogs. The cottage is single storey throughout, so older or less mobile dogs can move around freely, and the garden is fully enclosed — a good size for two dogs to use properly.

  • Are dogs allowed at Jasmine Cottage year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth checking directly with the owner when you book. What we can say is that the setup — enclosed garden, wood burner, easy single-level access — works well for dogs in any season.

  • What should I know before visiting Jasmine Cottage with my dog?

Jasmine Cottage sits on a working farm, so it's worth keeping a lead handy whenever your dogs venture beyond the garden fence. Inside the boundary you're well set up — the garden is fully enclosed, there are no stairs anywhere in the cottage, and the nearby beaches at Montrose, St Cyrus and Lunan Bay make for excellent dog walks a short drive away.
