Rolling farmland surrounds Jobsons Cottage, an enchanting thatched cottage in the Isle of Wight countryside near Niton, with a bubbling hot tub and lovely views across the fields. Sleeping six, with room for two dogs, this dog friendly cottage has walks around the adjoining fields straight from its front door.

A spacious panelled boot room greets you on the left as you step in, with room for coats and a little bench to sit on while the dogs are unclipped. Beside it, the cosy lounge has two plush sofas and an electric fireplace. Everyone ends up in the open plan kitchen diner, the heart of the cottage, with a rustic table and benches, a charming island, a pantry and a snug seating area by the patio doors, which open onto a courtyard looking out to the hills. Original flagstone floors, exposed beams and the old walls carry the cottage's history. All three bedrooms upstairs have king-size beds, and the zip-and-link room enjoys countryside views.

Outside there is the hot tub, comfortable rattan furniture, sun loungers and an enclosed garden with a BBQ, and the dogs flop down nearby as the evening goes quiet. The night sky here is wonderful for stargazing, so bring a telescope.

Niton village is 0.5 miles away with its shops and cafes, and Niton Beach is under 2 miles off. The Niton Undercliff, with its lush vegetation, is close by for exploring with the dogs, and St Catherine's Lighthouse stands on dramatic cliffs above the English Channel. The cottage can also be booked alongside the neighbouring Jobsons Dairy for a larger group of ten.
