Little Acre Barn sits in a cluster of barn conversions at the end of a country lane on the Yorkshire and Lancashire border, surrounded by beautiful countryside and wildlife. Once a hay barn and now graded five stars, it is a dog friendly hideaway that takes six people and three dogs, with well waymarked footpaths leading off from the front door.
You come in through the utility room, where walking boots come off, and the three dogs can have their paws wiped there before they reach the rest of the house. A sliding door leads through to the lounge, kitchen and diner, where high ceilings, exposed stone walls, beams and a floor to ceiling feature window make a fabulous room for socialising. The handcrafted kitchen has granite worktops and a breakfast bar, and a farmhouse table sits in the corner for family meals.
Double doors open onto the patio, the place to watch the sunset. The large enclosed garden has a covered patio, garden furniture, a gas barbecue and a private hot tub for stargazing under the dark skies, and the dogs have room to roam while dinner cooks. Up the bespoke staircase are three bedrooms, a super king with its own en suite, a cosy double and a further super king which converts to a twin, plus a light, airy bathroom fitted with both a roll top bath and a walk in shower.
Pendle Hill is 8 miles away for panoramic views from the top, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park can be reached within 11 miles, so the dogs can walk somewhere new every day. Closer to home, the friendly alpacas in the nearby fields are worth a visit.
