Llys Andreas House is an imposing, detached Victorian residence at Talybont, and from its garden the view runs towards the sea on the horizon from sunrise to sunset. Luxurious interiors give fourteen guests and two dogs plenty of room in this five star, dog friendly home, close to the beach, the stream and the woodlands.

Period features run throughout, and underfloor heating in the porch, hallway, lounge, games snug and kitchen gives the dogs a warm floor to sprawl on. The rear hall and boot room takes the outdoor gear. The spacious kitchen has a five ring gas hob and two electric ovens, the separate dining room has a feature fireplace and lovely views, and after dinner the choice is the lounge, the games snug with its X-Box and board games, or the conservatory gazing over the garden to the sea.

Five en suite bedrooms on the first floor have sea or mountain views or a feature fireplace, and the floor above holds a super-king with a seating area and sea views, a spacious twin and a bathroom. Dogs are not allowed upstairs or in the bedrooms. Outside, the large garden has a covered hot tub, a lawn, a patio and a charcoal BBQ, and the dogs join you there for the sunset.

A private gate leads from the garden down to a bridge over the stream, a lovely start to a stroll with the dogs. Barmouth, with its harbour and the Mawddach Estuary, is just under 5 miles away, Harlech is famous for its castle, and the National Park all around is threaded with footpaths, with walks to Cadair Idris and mountain biking at Coed-y-Brenin within 22 miles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Llys Andreas House dog friendly?

Yes, Llys Andreas House welcomes dogs — up to two can stay with you. It's a genuinely dog-considered setup, with a rear boot room and separate WC to handle wet arrivals, and underfloor heating in the hall and both sitting rooms that your dogs will likely claim as their own within the hour.

  • Are dogs allowed at Llys Andreas House year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your dates. What is clear is that dogs are an expected and welcome part of the experience here, not an afterthought.

  • What should I know before visiting Llys Andreas House with my dog?

The property takes a maximum of two dogs, so it's worth confirming that when you book. The enclosed garden is a real practical bonus — there's outdoor space where dogs can move freely without you having to worry. Nearby, Shell Island at Mochras and the ground around Harlech Castle offer good walking, and dogs are welcome on a fair amount of that coastline.
