The way in is from the mature enclosed garden into a vestibule, the place for coats, boots and lead after a day out. Beyond it the open plan living space is light, bright and spacious, with a lounge of comfortable seating and a roaring wood burner, a dining area with beautiful views and a well equipped bespoke kitchen, and the dog soon has its spot by the fire. The king size bedroom looks over the front garden and has an en suite bathroom, the spacious twin has views of the rear garden, and there is a separate shower room and a utility area too.
Outside, the gardens wrap right round the cottage, spacious, mature and enclosed, with a seating area and those valley views. Supper can be taken outdoors, and the evening ends stargazing with a wee dram or a good local ale while the dog stretches out beside you.
The valley is made for outdoor days, with walking, biking, loch and river fishing for salmon and trout, and Munro bagging from Glen Doll, close at hand with its ranger service. A dog that loves the hills will be in its element. Kirriemuir, birthplace of J M Barrie and of Bon Scott of AC/DC, is close by, Carnoustie's championship course is within reach, and Dundee, Perth and Aberdeen are within touring distance.
