Marmalade Cottage was once the original farmhouse on a 48 acre equestrian holding, and it has been lovingly restored into a gorgeous stone country cottage with luxurious touches throughout. Three dogs are welcome, the owner calls the large enclosed garden ideal for children and dogs, and six guests share a dog friendly stay built around it.
A large hallway takes the coats and shoes. To the right, the calm living room has soft blue velvety seating and a window looking out over the courtyard, and across the hall the bright dining room has the homely glow of an electric fire in wood burner style at supper time. The cottage style kitchen and utility follow. The dogs will soon learn the way from the hall to the kitchen door. Upstairs, a beautiful master with a vintage dressing table and bureau and a superb second king size room both overlook the courtyard, the twin room has the garden view, and a cosy cwtch corner on the landing is for the children.
The kitchen door opens onto the large lawned garden, with a swing under the shade of the trees, outdoor dining furniture and a BBQ. There is a private hot tub, newly installed, and as night falls the fire pit comes into its own, three dogs settled close by in the quiet of the country.
With horses in the stables and the fields around, the owner asks that dogs stay on leads once beyond the garden.
