Mid Town Cottage was first built in 1714 and has been tastefully extended into a spacious semi detached home at Brampton, 2 miles from the market town of Appleby, with numerous walks from the door. Six can sleep here along with two dogs. Being a dog friendly home, it starts in the right place, with a boot room and utility as the first room you step into, ready for two dogs and their walkers coming back in from the hills.
Through the large modern country kitchen is a spacious lounge with a cosy wood burner in the feature fireplace, and an open plan dining area completes the room. A French door leads out into the sprawling garden, so the evening can spill outside with the dogs. Upstairs, the master bedroom has feature beams, a super king bed, a reading nook and an en suite, and there is a cosy double and a twin besides.
Outside, the front garden is fully enclosed, and the extensive back garden, which the owners note is not fully enclosed, has a lawn, a patio, swings, goalposts and a built in BBQ station. Two dogs, children on the swings and somebody at the BBQ make an evening here, and when the competition turns serious there is an air hockey table in the converted garage.
The walking starts at the door. Dufton Pike, Dufton Wood, where the bluebells are something to behold if you catch them right, and High Cup Nick are all within 9 miles, each a grand outing with the dogs, while Great Dun Fell carries the highest tarmac road in England. The Lake District and the Eden Valley are within reach too.
