Once the original farmhouse of an equestrian holding set in 48 acres of pastureland near Llandysul, this lovingly restored stone cottage enjoys wonderful country views from its elevated position. For two people it makes a romantic, dog friendly country retreat.
You step in through the stable side door straight into the kitchen and dining area, well equipped for a hearty meal. Through from there, the bright, stylish lounge fills with light from its large Georgian windows, with a fabulous handmade velvet and tweed sofa and a gas wood burner effect fire set in the large original fireplace, and three dogs doze in front of it.
Upstairs, a super king bed (twins on request), a walk in wardrobe and a dressing table furnish the large bedroom, which looks over the courtyard. Out at the back, the enclosed lawned garden looks over the surrounding paddocks, with outdoor dining furniture for supper in the open air. With horses in the fields and stables all around, please keep dogs on leads beyond the garden; stabling for a visiting horse can be arranged with the owners.
Llandysul is 1.5 miles away, a market town where the Welsh language is widely spoken, with shops and eateries, salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Teifi, and canoeing, golf and horse riding. The magnificent Ceredigion coast is close enough for the dogs to enjoy plenty of seaside outings, with the popular seaside town of New Quay 15 miles off and quieter bays such as Tresaith to discover.
