Bring the dog and let it run free in the enclosed garden: that is the invitation at Nyth Y Wennol, a beautiful detached barn for two on a working farm at Maenan, with 200 acres of private farmland and footpaths leading to Snowdonia National Park. Two people and one dog have this dog friendly barn to themselves, with Conwy, Llanrwst and Betws y Coed all within 6 miles.

Inside, the barn has been creatively designed with interesting features and exposed beams. Quirky coat racks greet you at the front door, and from there it is down into the spacious open plan living space, where the kitchen has granite work surfaces and a dining table waits for dinner for two. Evenings belong to the luxurious swivel chairs, the smart TV and the electric wood burner effect fire, with the dog stretched out in front of it. On the floor above, the stylish king size bedroom has a freestanding bath in it, with an en suite shower room alongside.

Outside, the hot tub sits in a sheltered spot in the enclosed garden among a table and chairs, sun loungers, a BBQ and pretty borders, with a grass area where the dog can run. Towels are provided for the tub, and a welcome hamper is waiting when you arrive.

The farm has wonderful views and a number of private walks within its grounds, with public footpaths further afield for days when the dog wants more. Llanrwst and Betws y Coed are the places for gentle strolls or challenging climbs, Conwy is a World Heritage Site with its castle, town walls and fishing harbour, and Zip World, Surf Snowdonia and Bodnant Garden are all nearby.

We research every description carefully and believe it to be accurate, but details can change. Please confirm anything important, especially dog rules, with the booking agent or property owner before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Nyth Y Wennol - Conwy dog friendly?

Yes, Nyth Y Wennol welcomes one dog alongside two guests. The enclosed garden gives your dog room to roam safely, and private paths run directly through the working farm, so you can head out on a walk straight from the door without touching a road.

  • Are dogs allowed at Nyth Y Wennol - Conwy year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your dates. What we can say is that the setup — enclosed garden, farm paths, and nearby walks like the circuit of Llyn Geirionydd — suits a dog visit at pretty much any time of year.

  • What should I know before visiting Nyth Y Wennol - Conwy with my dog?

The property takes one dog, so it's not the place for a multi-dog household. It sits on a working farm, which means farm activity will be going on around you throughout your stay — something to bear in mind if your dog is easily unsettled by livestock or machinery. On the plus side, the compact, one-bedroom layout means dogs tend to settle quickly, and the fully enclosed garden means you won't need to worry about them escaping.
