Sleeping four amid the countryside close to Duns, this stylish, detached cottage is a dog friendly retreat, and two dogs can join you in the garden while you settle into the summer house.
Everything is on one level. From the garden you step into the hall, the place for coats and leads, then through to a light, bright lounge with comfortable sofas, a fantastic wood burner and a Smart TV, the dogs curled up close by once the fire is lit. The bespoke kitchen is stylish and well equipped, with a dining area that looks out over the countryside, and off the rear hallway are a king size bedroom, a stylish bathroom with a double headed shower over the bath, and a pretty twin.
Evenings belong to the garden. Light the BBQ, pour a glass of good local ale and watch the hills from the summer house while the dogs potter about nearby, and once the sky is dark it is a fine place for stargazing before bed.
Duns has a wonderful market square and a museum dedicated to motor racing legend Jim Clark, and Manderston House holds the only silver staircase in the world. The Southern Upland Way is close at hand for long days on foot with the dogs, trout and salmon fishing is available on the Whiteadder Water, and the Berwickshire coast is within reach, the nearest beach 9 miles away, with St Abbs, Eyemouth harbour and the surf at Coldingham Bay.
