Riverbank House

Relubbus, Cornwall

A six bedroom house on the river at Relubbus sleeping twelve, with an enclosed side garden, three dogs welcome and a hot tub in the grounds.

Twelve people, six bedrooms, four bathrooms and three dogs is a large gathering by any measure, and Riverbank House at Relubbus is built for exactly that. It stands on the river between Penzance and Hayle with an open fire, a hot tub and games facilities, far enough inland to be quiet and central enough to reach either coast inside twenty minutes.

The front is mainly lawn with a small patio, and there is an enclosed side garden beyond it, which is the part that earns its keep with three dogs and a dozen people coming and going through the front door. Praa Sands is two and a half miles and the Prussia Cove to Praa Sands walk one and nine tenths. Porthkidney at four and four tenths rates a nine with us, and Marazion and St Michael's Mount is three and two tenths.

Being on a river with three dogs is worth a thought before you arrive, in the sense that some will be in it within the hour and some will not go near it. The enclosed side garden answers either case. For a family week where three households converge with a dog apiece, this is one of very few houses on the list that can absorb the whole thing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Riverbank House dog friendly?

Yes, Riverbank House welcomes up to three dogs, making it one of the more generous allowances you'll find for a self-catering property. There's an enclosed side garden that's particularly useful for keeping dogs safe and secure with a large group coming and going.

  • Are dogs allowed at Riverbank House year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs at Riverbank House, but we'd recommend confirming directly with the owner when you book to be certain.

  • What should I know before visiting Riverbank House with my dog?

The house sits on a river, which is worth bearing in mind — some dogs will be straight in, others won't go near it, and it's good to be prepared either way. The enclosed side garden is a real asset for managing dogs safely, especially when three households are arriving and departing through the front door. Nearby, you've got Praa Sands just two and a half miles away and the Prussia Cove to Praa Sands coastal walk less than two miles, so there's no shortage of good dog walking close by.
