Across the road is Peasholm Park, with its pagoda, its lake and its waterfalls, and a ten minute walk away is the long sand of North Bay. Seashells sits between the two, a dog friendly house in Scarborough for six people and two dogs, with four bedrooms, a wood burner and a craft and games room with the best view in the house.

The enclosed garden is at the front, laid out with seats for the people and space for the dogs, and it is their own patch between walks. At the back there is a conservatory that doubles as a boot room, which is exactly where two sandy dogs and a pile of coats want to end up. Inside, the ground floor is open plan, with a handmade kitchen, a dining table for eight and a three piece suite round the wood burner.

There is a bedroom on the ground floor too, a kingsize with a walk-in shower, which is useful for anyone who would rather not tackle stairs, and a stair gate is provided. Upstairs are a second kingsize with its own shower, a super kingsize looking through a big bay window over the park, a double, and a family bathroom. The games room fills the rest of the floor, and on a slow afternoon, with the dogs asleep by the burner, it is where the house ends up.

North Bay is the quieter of Scarborough's two beaches, with the castle on its headland between them and the coastal path heading up over Holbeck Hill to the south. Further along the coast, Cayton Bay and the coves at Cloughton and Hayburn Wyke give a dog a change of scene, and Whitby is within a drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Seashells Peasholm dog friendly?

Yes, Seashells Peasholm welcomes up to two dogs. The house has an enclosed front garden where dogs can relax between walks, and a conservatory at the back that doubles as a boot room — ideal for drying off sandy paws after a trip to the beach.

  • Are dogs allowed at Seashells Peasholm year round?

The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your dates. With North Bay a ten-minute walk away and Peasholm Park just across the road, it's a great base for dogs whatever the season.

  • What should I know before visiting Seashells Peasholm with my dog?

The property accepts a maximum of two dogs, so it's not suitable for larger groups of pets. A stair gate is provided, which is handy if you need to keep dogs off certain areas of the house, and the boot room conservatory at the back is a practical spot to land after muddy or sandy walks. North Bay, Cayton Bay and the coves at Cloughton and Hayburn Wyke are all within reach for dog-friendly days out.
