Book now

Two king size bedrooms, an en suite each, and the sea filling the windows: Seaview Steading is built for two couples, or one, travelling with up to two dogs. A five star period steading on a working farm at Carmyllie, it is the dog friendly luxury option on this stretch of the Angus coast, and it earns the name from most rooms.

The open plan living space runs the length of the cottage, wood burner at one end, induction hob kitchen at the other, dining in between with the coast beyond the glass. Outside, the patio carries a charcoal BBQ, a fire pit and a private hot tub, and at the side of the property a large mature lawned garden, fully enclosed, gives the dogs their own ground to patrol.

It divides the day cleanly. Dogs and owners out to the dunes or up a glen in the morning, then the slow half: hot tub, fire pit, the sea changing colour, and two dogs drying by the burner having decided the patio is now theirs. Arrivals by helicopter can be accommodated, which tells you the ambition of the place.

Carnoustie and its dunes sit down the coast, Arbroath's sandstone cliffs and the long sand of Lunan Bay are both an easy drive, and the Angus Glens rise inland for the day the dog wants a hill. Not many corners of Scotland put beach and glen this close together.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Seaview Steading dog friendly?

Yes, Seaview Steading welcomes up to two dogs. The property has a large mature lawned garden that is fully enclosed, giving dogs their own space to roam safely, and the open plan living area with its wood burner makes for a comfortable base after a day out on the coast or in the glens.

  • Are dogs allowed at Seaview Steading year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's best to confirm directly with the property when booking. What is clear is that the setup — enclosed garden, fire pit, hot tub, and a wood burner to dry off by — suits a visit in any season.

  • What should I know before visiting Seaview Steading with my dog?

The property accommodates up to two dogs, so it's worth confirming this limit at the time of booking if you're travelling with more. The enclosed garden gives dogs secure outside space, and the surrounding area offers excellent walking — Carnoustie's dunes, Lunan Bay's long sands, and the Angus Glens are all within easy reach for days out.
