A dog sitting service can be arranged here, which is not something a holiday let usually offers. Sgubor Haidd is a five star dog friendly granary conversion for twelve above Llannefydd, six bedrooms and six bathrooms, with an enclosed lawn and a large paved patio outside it. Four dogs are allowed. The four of them are catered for more deliberately than in most houses this size.

The building was the farm's granary and the conversion keeps saying so, with exposed beams and feature stone walls, and the living space opens out to a log burner at the far end of it. A mezzanine snug looks down on all of that from above. The utility boot room takes what four dogs bring in, which in a house of twelve is the difference between a floor and a problem.

Six bedrooms and six bathrooms means nobody in a party of twelve waits for anything: two kings with en-suite showers plus a twin, all on the ground floor, then three more above, one with a feature window looking down the valley to the sea. Outside there is a games barn with a kitchen and a pizza oven in it. Four dogs get the lawn and the patio and the door standing open between them.

Field paths leave the yard, and the village is a few minutes' walk the other way. Rhuddlan lies 8 miles north, where the Clwyd was put down a channel cut for it in the thirteenth century so that ships could reach the castle, and the castle still stands over the top of the cut. The coast shows from the upper windows. Four dogs will use the farm's own ground more than any of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Sgubor Haidd dog friendly?

Yes, Sgubor Haidd is genuinely set up for dogs rather than just tolerating them. Up to four dogs are welcome, there's an enclosed lawn and large paved patio for them to use freely, a utility boot room to handle muddy returns, and a dog sitting service can be arranged — which is rare for a holiday let of any size.

  • Are dogs allowed at Sgubor Haidd year round?

The listing doesn't specify seasonal restrictions on dogs, so it's worth contacting the property directly to confirm availability for your dates. Given how deliberately the accommodation is set up for dogs, it's clearly a core part of what Sgubor Haidd offers rather than an afterthought.

  • What should I know before visiting Sgubor Haidd with my dog?

The maximum is four dogs, so if you're travelling with a larger pack you'll need to check ahead. The enclosed lawn and patio give dogs plenty of outdoor space, and field paths leave directly from the yard for walks, with the village only a few minutes away on foot. The utility boot room is well placed for cleaning up after muddy adventures before anyone heads back inside.
