Syke Farm Campsite is a traditional, dog friendly site on a family run working farm in the village of Buttermere, with Keswick, Cockermouth and Borrowdale as neighbours. There are no allocated pitches, so campers choose their own spot on arrival, and there is a shepherd's hut for anyone who would rather not pitch. Guests can sit back with the dog and take in the panoramic views of the mountains and lakes, or head for the hills on Buttermere's walks.
Dogs are welcome here, kept on leads while on the campsite and never left unattended, and owners are asked to clean up after them. Beyond the site there are plenty of walks nearby where dogs can run free, and the cafes and pubs are dog friendly too, so a day on the fells can end with the dog settled under the table over a meal. With mountains all around, this is a lovely Lakeland base for anyone travelling with a dog.
