The ruins of Drochil Castle stand right beside The Castles Cottage, a stylish, detached dog friendly cottage for two on a 1200 acre beef and sheep grassland farm near West Linton. It sits in an elevated position with wonderful views over the Peeblesshire valley, and it welcomes two dogs.

The way in is through the spacious wrap around gardens to a large vestibule, the place to hang wet coats and dry a dog after a muddy walk. Off the inner hallway are a light, bright king size bedroom, a comfortable lounge with Smart TV and wood burner, a spacious bespoke kitchen and diner, and a stylish shower room, all on the one level. With the logs lit, the lounge is where both dogs settle for the evening.

Outside, the gardens are fully enclosed, mature and wrap right round the cottage, with a seating area for eating outdoors. In the evenings it is a place for stargazing over open countryside and the castle ruins with the dogs stretched out nearby.
