1 / 21The Cobbles - Ripon
Ripon, North Yorkshire
A Victorian terrace for six in the middle of Ripon with a basement games room, a log burner and a gated garden reached through an archway, two dogs welcome.
Somebody here thought about which door a wet dog comes in by. The Cobbles has one on the street at the front and another at the back through an archway, and the back one lands you in the kitchen, washing machine a flight below. It is a dog friendly Victorian terrace in the middle of Ripon sleeping six, two dogs allowed, with a gated garden and a courtyard behind.
Three floors and a basement. Kitchen and diner take the back of the ground floor, the lounge the front with a log burner, and the basement holds a games room, a WC and the machine that deals with whatever the dogs bring home. The first floor gives a king, a twin with a trundle bed under it and the family bathroom. A second king has the top of the house to itself.
Nine at night and somebody has gone up to the square to watch the hornblower set the watch, which happens every evening of the year and takes four minutes. Everybody else is in the basement losing at something. The log burner is going upstairs in an empty room. Both dogs have settled at the top of the basement stairs, where they can hear the game and still see the front door. That has been their position since Tuesday.
Ripon can be crossed on foot in a quarter of an hour and holds a great deal in it. The cathedral stands over the square with a Saxon crypt beneath it, older than anything above ground for miles. The canal towpath gives a level walk out of the city with water alongside, and the Skell runs west through fields where a dog comes off the lead.

Is The Cobbles - Ripon dog friendly?
Yes, The Cobbles welcomes up to two dogs. It's a Victorian terrace in the heart of Ripon with a gated garden and a courtyard at the back, so there's secure outdoor space for them to use.
Are dogs allowed at The Cobbles - Ripon year round?
The listing doesn't specify any seasonal restrictions, and nothing in the property details suggests dogs are limited to certain times of year. It's worth confirming directly with the host if you're planning a visit at an unusual time.
What should I know before visiting The Cobbles - Ripon with my dog?
The back entrance through the archway leads straight into the kitchen, with a washing machine a floor below — clearly designed with muddy dogs in mind after a walk. The canal towpath and the River Skell to the west both offer good dog walks from the property, with the Skell route giving off-lead space through fields. The house sleeps six across three floors and a basement, so there's plenty of room for everyone, dogs included.
