The Cottage at Tunstead is a charming, isolated stone cottage set amid open fields in the Peak District, with glorious views. Every nook and cranny has been meticulously refurbished, and with the Monsal Trail and footpaths on the doorstep, walkers, cyclists and their dog will find this dog friendly cottage hard to match.
The hallway has ample space for coats and boots, and it leads through to the open-plan heart of the cottage, set under a vaulted ceiling and exposed oak frame, with floor-to-ceiling windows taking in the surroundings. Comfortable chairs face the wood-burner, the dog's first stop once the walking is done, and a separate snug makes room for a quieter evening. The ground floor is warmed by underfloor heating.
One en-suite bedroom is downstairs, and two more upstairs have their own shower rooms and lovely countryside views. The garage is now a games room with table football and table tennis, there is secure storage for six bikes, and an external wash off area takes care of bikes, boots and the dog after a muddy walk. The spa town of Buxton, 4.5 miles away, is home to the renowned Opera House, and further on, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are worth the drive.
